Terms of Service
These terms cover the moving and storage services Summit Transportation provides and your use of summit-moving.com. By requesting a quote, booking a move, or signing one of our written estimates, you agree to the terms below. They are written in plain language; the binding particulars of any specific job are in the written estimate and contract you sign with us.
Estimates and binding written quotes
A local estimate is our good-faith projection based on the information and walkthrough you provide; the actual local charge reflects the hours, crew size, and materials the move ends up needing. A long-distance estimate is a binding written flat rate starting at $2,340 — once you accept it in writing, the price holds for the scope described, and it only changes if you add services, items, or stops that were not part of the original walkthrough. Always read your written estimate carefully, because it governs your specific move.
Deposits, scheduling, and cancellation
A $150 deposit reserves your date on the Summit calendar and is applied to your final total. If you need to reschedule, contact us as early as you can — Hannah will move your booking and carry the deposit to the new date. If you cancel outright, the deposit may be retained in part or in full to cover the slot we held for you; we always try to be reasonable, and the exact terms are spelled out at booking. Weather cancellations driven by NWS warnings, ice storms, or tornado conditions are not penalized.
Liability, valuation, and claims
Released-value protection at $0.60 per pound is included on every shipment at no extra charge and is the default level of liability under federal household-goods rules. You may instead choose full-value protection for broader coverage, which we will price and explain before your move. Cargo coverage extends up to $1,000,000 per shipment. Damage or loss claims must be reported to us promptly and in line with the procedures in your moving documents; we will inspect, work to repair or replace, and resolve in writing.
Governing law and authority
Summit Transportation operates under household-goods carrier authority issued by the Missouri Department of Transportation, with its own USDOT and MC authority on file with the federal regulator for interstate work. These terms and any move we perform for you are governed by the laws of the State of Missouri. If any part of these terms is found unenforceable, the remainder stays in effect. Questions are welcome at (888) 711-4778 or [email protected].
