Apartment, Loft, and Walk-Up Moves Across Lee’s Summit

Apartment moves live or die on logistics. The freight elevator that wants reserving, the COI the leasing office puts on file with a specific liability number, the loading zone that’s packed at 9 a.m. and wide open by 7. Summit handles all of it ahead of the day so the crew is carrying cartons rather than arguing with a front desk. Hannah Beck on dispatch fires the COI off to the building (and to ours) before the property manager has even asked, which keeps the move-in from stalling at the leasing window for an hour while a clipboard gets passed around.

Apartments, condos, downtown lofts, and the third-floor walk-ups that line Independence Ave and the older complexes around Summit Fair all run through the schedule weekly. The tighter buildings reward planning: narrow stairwells, landings that barely let a sectional pivot, doors at the top that nobody thought to measure when the couch got bought. The crew brings shoulder dollies and lifting straps, and a sofa stands on end or a sectional breaks into chaise plus loveseat when that is the only way the piece clears the turn at the landing.

Elevator booking, tight stair carries, and zero-parking blocks

For a downtown loft or a new high-rise with a freight elevator on a reservation system, we lock the window with management, pad the car, and time the carry around the slot so the crew is not standing in the lobby waiting for a door that somebody else booked. For a third-floor walk-up, Brandon plans the carry route and stages the heaviest pieces first while the crew is still fresh. For a block with zero loading, we coordinate the legal curb cut in advance so the truck parks close and the dolly run stays short.

  • Building COI sent to leasing offices and management ahead of the day
  • Padded freight-elevator car booked for the load window the building gave you
  • A planned third-floor stair carry with shoulder dollies and lifting straps
  • Downtown loading-zone and tight-parking coordination booked in advance
  • Quilted padding on door frames, wall corners, and stairwell landings
  • Flat-rate apartment bands or the $135/hr two-mover hourly, whichever fits

Service FAQ

Can you provide a COI for my building?
Yes, and Hannah usually has it sent before the leasing office has even asked. The certificate goes to property management with the liability numbers they require, so the move-in does not stall at the leasing window while a property manager hunts down the right paperwork.
Do you handle freight-elevator buildings?
We do. The elevator window gets booked with management, the car gets padded, and the carry is timed around the reservation so the crew is not standing in a lobby waiting for a door that another tenant grabbed. Loft and high-rise moves like this run weekly.
What about a third-floor walk-up off Independence Ave?
Common, and we plan for them. The crew scouts the stairwell, brings shoulder dollies and straps for sectionals and mattresses, and pads the landings so nothing gets gouged on a tight turn. The heaviest pieces get carried first while the crew is still fresh.
What if there isn't any decent parking?
We coordinate a legal curb cut or loading zone with the building ahead of time, so the truck sits close and the dolly walk stays short. Half the job on a tight downtown block is the parking plan, and it keeps your household out of a metered space across the street.
What does an apartment move cost?
Flat bands run $420 to $620 for a studio, $670 to $990 for a one-bedroom, and $1,100 to $1,640 for a two-bedroom. The $135/hr hourly is available too; Megan tells you on the walkthrough which one comes out cheaper for the home and the stair count.
